Trapping

NC is a very unique state in its polices in the trapping of animals.  Each county has it own ordinances but must go to the NC General Assembly for laws to be passed for each county.

Polk County recently decided that they need to trap animals due to overpopulation of coyotes and foxes.  The County Commissions meet and voted to appeal to NC General Assembly to file a bill.  A bill was filed on January 31, 2013.  However, this meeting of the County Commissioners was not advertised so that Polk County Citizens could discuss the matter before the Commissioners.

A meeting is scheduled for February 4, 2013 of the Polk County Commissioners.
